House of Mouse

I though I would share with you one of the greatest shows of all time: House of Mouse. This show was just Disney animated shorts interspersed with stories happening involving the Disney Characters who ran the club. All the guests where Disney characters and the club was run by the big cheese himself Mickey Mouse and his friends.

More Bad News for Nintendo

Things are not going to well for Nintendo right now. Some sources are saying 3DS will lose Nintendo money for each unit sold, Iwata is taking a 50% pay cut, and their profits are the lowest they have been in 26 years. I don't know what to think right now, but my feelings went from being happy about 20 free games, to being worried that my Nintendo may close the gates to the Mushroom Kingdom for good.

Nintendo Ambassador Program

This system's future is starting to look bright!
Nintendo revealed the announcement of a price drop for the 3DS going from $249.99 to $169.99 starting August 12th. Anyone who has connected to the Nintendo eShop by August 11th will be eligible for 10 free NES games and 10 free GBA games. If you do not own a 3DS it is going to be a great time to buy one. You can read more about it in Nintendo's press release here. This is obviously to combat lack luster sales and the PlayStation Vita. I honestly did not see a price drop coming this soon. I also definitely did not see the NES games and GBA games either.

Captain America: The First Avenger

I saw Captain America: The First Avenger this weekend and it was pretty awesome. In case you did not realize it. it is a Disney movie now that Disney own Marvel. I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone who has not seen it but I recommend you do. It takes place during World War II and is filled with action compelling characters, and humor. The end of the movie also gives you a peak into what The Avengers movie will be like next summer. So what are you waiting for? Go see it!

Disney Tilt-Shift Video

This video has been out for a while but I thought it was worth readers who have not seen it to see it. What makes it so awesome is that Tilt-Shift gives the time lapses the appearance of being model toys.

For more look after the break.

Dinosuars

Back in the 90's there was this awesome sitcom on ABC that dealt with all kinds of issues going on in the real world. The entire cast was also made up of dinosaurs  It followed a family of dinosaurs living there lives while parodying sitcoms and the average human family altogether. It was a very interesting show done with audio-animatronic puppets made by Jim Henson Television and Walt Disney Television along with Buena Vista Television. It is not aired on TV any more but it is available on DVD. If you have the chance I recommend yo see it.

WALL-E in Disney Universe

Check out this video for a look at a WALL-E inspired Disney Universe level.

I really don't know what to think of this game, it is to early to say but right now it looks like a rip-off of the Lego Star Wars/Harry Potter etc. game and Little

Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure Review

Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure was a humorous game but for the the wrong reasons. Before I get to that lets talk about the game. It was onthe Playstation 2 and the Gameboy Advance. The game used the same gameplay engine as the Tony Hawk games at the time. Back when Tony Hawk games were good. The game play has some variety giving you the ability to pull off ridiculous tricks, like jumping of a lighthouse. The game is mostly fun but the blatand product placement reaches the point of being disgusting. One mission you have to help some guy get a ringtone for his Nokia phone. In another mission you have to deliver food for Mcdonalds. In the end the game it self is fun to play but you feel like you just played an advertisement.

The Epcot Wand, or lack Thereof

Rember this?
It may have been taken down in 2007 for Epcot's 25 annivarsary but does anyone miss the wand? I know I don't. There was never a point to it, does Disney think I'm that stupid that I don't know what park I'm in. You pay 80 dollars or however much the admission is I think I know where I am. Was there ever a need for that wand? Am I the only one still upset 4 years after it was taken off?! Don't even get me started on the whole Epcot/Epcot Center thing, I'll write about that sometime.

Opinion of the Week: Disney World Restaurants: Food or Atmosphere?

Should this Really Cost $30?
When you go to eat at Walt Disney World do you want great food, or a great experience? I'm not really sure what I want, I think it all depends on what kind of restaurant it is and where it is located. If I'm eating at counter service, good chance the only reason I'm there is because if I don't eat I could suffocate in the ever so present Florida Sun. So I am looking for a good atmosphere to compensate for the fact that I'm not on an attraction, or more likely in an attraction's Que. So why is it that Counter Service Restaurants are always trying to get a better variety of food when all I'm doing is looking for something to eat. If I want great food all go to a sit down restaurant. Is there a balance? Does there need to be a balance? Or am I just crazy?

Disney's Stitch: Experiment 626 Review

Stitch: Experiment 626 for the PlayStation 2 was an interesting game. The gameplay was okay, yet sometimes due to the camera it could become frustrating. The graphics where good but it did not really capture the style of Lilo and Stitch. The game was developed by High Voltage Software. They have made many licensed games like Dora the Explorer and a lot of other not so great games like that. But you may know them for developing the first person shooters The Conduit and The Conduit 2. Though at many times this game was somewhat enjoyable due to the fact that that it is still Stitch. The voice acting also added a nice touch to the game. There were many big environments in the game and it constantly changed from being extremely linear to more open, and in my opinion much more confusing. In the end if you can find this game for a good, very low, price I would recommend you pick it up.

Disneyland's 56th Birthday

Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour Review

Dreamcast Cover

The Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour (mouthful of a name) was a fun game and graphically impressive for its time. It was available on both Sony Playstation [ps1] and Sega Dreamcast. There was also a 2d handheld version for the Gameboy Color. though the game in many ways was just another Mario Kart rip off. it had its own special features that made it unique. the main reason being the tracks.
Game Boy Color version was not a looker
The player would race through various attractions to fix some fireworks machine. I could care less about the story in this game, today for me it is somewhat generic cookie cutter type story.

Top Selling games for June 2011

Here is the list of the top ten bestselling games for June 2011:
01. L.A. Noire (360, PS3) Take 2 Interactive
02. Duke Nukem Forever (360, PS3, PC) Take 2 Interactive
03. Infamous 2 (PS3) Sony
04. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game (Wii, 360, NDS, PS3, 3DS, PSP, PC) Disney Interactive Studios
05. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) Nintendo (280,000)
06. Call of Duty: Black Ops (360, PS3, Wii, NDS, PC) Activision Blizzard
07. NBA 2K11 (360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, PC) Take 2 Interactive
08. Mortal Kombat 2011 (PS3, 360) Warner Bros. Interactive
09. Cars 2 (NDS, Wii, 360, PS3, PC) Disney Interactive Studios
10. Just Dance 2 (Wii) Ubisoft

Two Disney games made the list with Lego Pirates of the Caribbean taking number four behind L.A. Noire, Duke Nukem Forever, and Infamous 2. no surprise there, well except for Duke Nukem. That game has been getting terrible reviews and criticized  for being sexist, disgusting, not funny, and just not entertaining. Cars 2 took number 9. The Cars franchise is huge raking in 2 billion dollars annually (you can read about it here) Disney Interactive has not been doing that well this year with headlines about layoffs. and the closure of Black Rock Studios. So its nice to see a good month for Disney.
